John Ondish MARGARETVILLE John Ondish, 81, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Margaretville Memorial Hospital, Margaretville.

| John was born June 21, 1924, in Swoyersville, Pa., the son of Anna Rusanko and Peter Ondish.
John is survived by his son J. Michael Ondish, Margaretville; his brother and sisters, Leonard Ondish of Maryland, Delores Farrell and Hellen Cruthers, both of Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Andrew Ondish and Peter Ondish, both of Pennsylvania.
John married Ruth L. Ackerley on Nov. 27, 1945, who later passed away Nov. 21, 1993.
John served 54 years in line construction. From Sardoni construction to NYSEG. He and his crew put the electric power in the Margaretville, Arkville, New Kingston, Dry Brook, etc., areas. They also constructed the longest power line span in the state of New York, which was across the Pepacton Reservoir, only to be beaten by Niagara Mohawk a few years ago by 121 feet over the Hudson River.
John was a private man who enjoyed NASCAR racing, gardening, antique cars and tinkering machinery. Although a good hunter and fisherman, he also loved and enjoyed his animals of all kinds.
He was a good husband and father and touched on many people’s lives.
Donations in memory of John Ondish may be sent to Catskill Area Hospice, 1 Birchwood Drive, Department FH, Oneonta, NY 13820-1319 or the Nursing Staff Fund at Margaretville Memorial Hospital, Margaretville, NY 12455.
Private funeral and committal services will be held at a later date in the spring.
Arrangements are by the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.
Rose M. Macaluso ONEONTA Rose M. Macaluso, 85, of Oneonta, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at the A.O. Fox Hospital Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Carbondale, Pa., the daughter of Anthony and Carolina (Puma) Signorino.
She married Anthony T. Macaluso on Sept. 2, 1962. He predeceased her July 8, 1984.
Rose graduated from Carbondale High School and moved to Oneonta in 1937. For a period of time she was a stock girl at Unger’s Dress Factory. From 1942 to 1945, she was employed in the experimental department of Scintilla. From 1946 to 1967, she worked in the accounting department of Spaulding Bakery, in which she spent 10 years in Oneonta and 12 years in Binghamton.
In 1967, she and her husband moved to Delaware County where they maintained their home in Bloomville until his death in 1984. At that time she moved to Oneonta.
While living in Delaware County, Rose was an election inspector in the Kortright Voting District.
Rose was a member of St. Mary’s Church, the Young at Heart Club, and the Elm Park Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her sister, Josephine Spinola, of Oneonta; her sister-in-law, Grace and her husband, Ron Kent, of East Meredith; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her two sisters, Antoinette Bartilotti and Mary Conigliaro; and her brother, Joseph Signorino.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, in St. Mary’s Church, with the Rev. Joseph Benintende, pastor officiating.
Burial will be in the spring in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta, at which time the family will be in attendance.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church.

Robert Raymond Coleman GILBOA Robert Raymond Coleman, 81, of Gilboa, and formerly of Gratz, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta.
Memorial services will be held at Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz, Pa., at a later date.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, Pa., is in charge of arrangements.
