Maylon A. Proctor Sr. EAST WORCESTER Maylon A. Proctor Sr., 67, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at Bassett Healthcare Hospital in Index Deaths of local interest in Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie counties are: *William R. He was born Dec. 29, 1938, in Seward, the son of Ray and Gladys (Diamond) Proctor.
Maylon worked for the Village of Cobleskill Highway Department for many years. He retired in 1994 from SUNY Cobleskill, where he was a heavy-duty equipment operator.
Maylon was a volunteer for the Cobleskill Fire Department for 17 years and served as assistant chief.
He was an avid camper and adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rachel (Whitney) Proctor, of East Worcester; four children, Maylon A. Proctor Jr. of Cobleskill, Dorothy and Chris LaRock of Worcester, Charlene and Alan Tiffany of East Worcester and Tim Proctor of Seward; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jennie Kniskern of Warnerville, Gilberta Warner of Warnerville and Gert Wilday of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank-you to Patti Wilkinson and her daughter, Becky, for being there.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, chaplain at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, officiating.
Interment will be in the East Worcester Cemetery.

The E.J. Skinner Co., 155 Main St., in Worcester, is serving the family.
John ’Jack’ Scott FRANKLIN John "Jack" Scott of Franklin passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006.
He was born April 24, 1934, in Brooklyn, the only son of Michael Thomas Scott of County Mayo, Ireland, and Ellen Butler Scott of Manchester, England.
In 1952, he married Lauretta Scott in Brooklyn. They shared three children together.
John was a high school football player, P.A.L. boxer, sharp dresser and a class act. He worked in the composing room of The New York Times. This led to a long career in newspapers and contributed to his lifelong enjoyment for reading and sharing of his interpretive thoughts.
His sincere generosity for loving and giving made him a good source for advice, as well as an eager and friendly listener.
Although his spirit lives on and will linger forever, his physical presence is sadly missed by all.
Jack and his family had lived in Brooklyn, Lake Carmel, and Sacramento, Calif., before settling in Franklin, upon his retirement from the New York State Power Authority-Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant, in Peekskill, in 1996.
He maintained contact with many dear friends and relations in Sacramento, New York and Ireland. His Franklin home became the legacy of all of his children, following him and living in this area.
Jack was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish in Sidney. He was an avid boater and general outdoorsman. He enjoyed the best of everything from golf to grandchildren. Attending events in the lives of his children, their spouses and grandchildren brought great joy. He enjoyed their performances in music, sports, dance, film and theatre.
All will miss Jack, a grandpa and a dad.
He is survived by his sister, Clair Hudson and family of Georgia; Lauretta Scott of New York; and his children, daughter, Laureen Scott-Treacy and husband Frank Treacy of Oneonta, son, Wayne T. Scott, wife Yumiko Scott and their son, John Scott, of Franklin, and son, Kevin M. Scott, wife Eileen Rose-Scott, and their children, Rachel, Mariah and Brendan Scott, of Unadilla. He is also survived by his nephews, Michael Scott and Christopher Sheffer; along with many other special nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Tommy and Ellen Scott; his sister, Moya Scott; his granddaughter, Erin "Katie" Scott; and one nephew, Robert Hudson.
Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, located at 101 East Main St., Sidney, NY 13838.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, and from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2006. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Church, Liberty Street, Sidney, with the Rev. Fr. Gordon Polenz officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Unadilla in the spring.
William R. Dufloe RICHFIELD SPRINGS William R. Dufloe, 56, of Walnut Street, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 29, 2006, in Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown. He had the comfort of his loving family at his side.
He was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Herkimer, son of Robert and Helen Emrich Dufloe.
A lifelong Richfield Springs resident, he graduated from Richfield Springs High School with the class of 1967. He furthered his education, graduating from Morrisville Community College in 1969. Upon completing college, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam from 1970 until 1971. He was honorably discharged with rank of sergeant.
On March 3, 1973, he married the former Linda Woodard in Cedarville.
Mr. Dufloe was employed as a sales representative with Bellvue Lumber Builders in Richmondville, Webb and Sons Lumber Company in Sherburne and currently with Curtis Lumber Company in Sherburne.
Bill had a strong belief in God and was a member of the Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs.
An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the Watauga Club in the Adirondack Mountains, an exclusive recreational club for hunting and fishing. He proudly inherited this membership from his grandfather.
He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.
Surviving are his loving wife of 32 years, Linda; a daughter, Trisha Dufloe of Oswego; and his parents, Robert and Helen Dufloe of Richfield Springs.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday (today) in the Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs, with the Rev. William Harkins, pastor officiating.
Interment will be later this spring in Lakeview Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made with donations to the Church of Christ Uniting, Friends of Bassett, Richfield Springs Health Center, Louis Busch Hager Oncology Center or the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Barbara C. Smith DELHI Barbara (Culver) Smith, 65, an Oneonta native, but longtime Franklin Road, Delhi, resident, and wife of James R. Smith, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, Jan. 30, 2006, in Ocala, Fla.
Arrangements are pending with Robert A. Peet, Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi.

Bernice Keller Porter CHAPEL HILL, N.C. Bernice Keller Porter left life on earth at her home in Carol Woods on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006.
She was born on Staten Island on Dec. 6, 1914.
A Wagner College nursing graduate, she met and married Walter Keller in 1937 while working as an RN at Staten Island Hospital. They lived in Roslyn, NY, New Orleans, and New Canaan, Conn. Mr. Keller died in 1968. Bernice worked again as an RN while living in New Canaan.
She married Richard Porter in 1992 and moved to Chapel Hill. Mr. Porter died in 2000.
Mrs. Porter was widely traveled, loved to dance and play bridge and spend time with family and friends. Her shortbread was legendary.
Survivors include sons, Walt of Stamford, NY; Paul of Burlington, Conn., their wives, Brigitte and Peggy; nine grandchildren, Christa, Toma, David, Hans, Peter, Goya, Noah, Gordon and Karen; and eight great-grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary, James, Hope, Jakob, Joseph, Timothy and Norah. Also surviving are one brother-in-law, Jerry Hill of Clearwater, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will have a celebration of her life in mid-summer.
