On Oct. 31, 1935, Pauline married Floyd N. Locke in Oneonta. They celebrated 67 years of marriage before Floyd’s death on May 6, 2003.

Floyd worked for the D&H Railroad, so Pauline and her family moved from Oneonta to Syracuse, Ravena and Albany, before moving back to Oneonta permanently in 1978.

Pauline enjoyed playing bingo, putting together jigsaw puzzles, embroidering, and tending to her flowers and garden.

She was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family. In late years, she was the happiest with visits from her daughter, Jane, and her dog, Daisy, along with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

To all that knew her, they will never forget her warm smile and quiet manner. She will be greatly missed.

Thank you to the many caring individuals who helped Pauline over the course of the last year, from the staff at A.O. Fox Nursing Home, to the staff of Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care. Your compassion and devotion to Pauline and to us was amazing!

We would like to especially say "thank you" to Paula and Maggie, who touched our hearts in a way that we so needed. You became a part of our family. You made yourselves available to us whenever we needed, regardless of the hour.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Jane M. Lints of West Oneonta; seven grandchildren, Kelly and Ron Georgia, April and Chris Brown, Karen Lints and John Orsini, Jerry Locke, Sue Locke, Barbara Locke and Paul Locke; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Glendora Heller of Robynwood Adult Home, Oneonta; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by two sons, James M. Locke and Vernon W. Locke; three granddaughters, Debbie Sharer, Becky Locke and Kristine Lints; one great-granddaughter, Kim Locke; one sister, Janice Evans; and one brother, Glenn Fuller.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta, with Allison J. Bookhout, chaplain at Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, officiating.

Burial will be held in the spring in the Cook Cemetery, West Oneonta.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations in Pauline’s memory go to Catskill Area Hospice Hope Foundation, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home of Oneonta.
