a long battle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 6, 1936, in A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta.

He graduated from Oneonta High School when it was on Academy Street.

Reg worked for his father at Oneida Truck & Trailer Sales in Oneonta for several years, then went to work for the Victory Chain, started out in Oneonta, then Norwich and onto become the manager of the Sidney store.

He married Jeanette Scarzafava. She predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his parents, Reg and Billie Miller; and a brother, Thomas.

He moved to Florida in the 1960s and was employed by Florida Crushed Stone. He became a supervisor and head of OSHA, where he received several awards for safety. He took an early retirement due to heart problems.

He did volunteer work for Joni Industries and aided in many charities, St. Jude’s Hospital for Children being his dearest.

Reg is survived by his two children, Michael Miller, his friend, Sue Nelson, and Kathleen Miller and granddaughter, Angela Miller; his sister, Pat Solovitch, all of Oneonta; one nephew, Jud Shaffer; two nieces, Cindy Farmer of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Kelly Hutchinson of Homestead, Fla.; and Reg’s longtime friend, Vie Kowalcky.

A memorial service will be held at the families’ convenience.

Lillian W. Henderson

ONEONTA — Lillian W. Henderson, 91, of Oneonta, passed away Monday, March 6, 2006, at home.

She was born Jan. 30, 1915, in Bronx, the daughter of Fred and Louisa (Young) Fien.

Lillian married Elliott Henderson on March 6, 1938, in Bronxville. Mr. Henderson predeceased her March 18, 1986.

For 30 years, Lillian worked as a clerk for New York Telephone Company in Yonkers.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Westchester County and also the Amaranth of Westchester County.

While living in Georgia, she was a member of the Silver Hope Senior Group at Pope Presbyterian Church in Marietta, Ga.

Lillian was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Lillian is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Mike Borachok of Oneonta; two granddaughters, Jill Eichler and her husband, Steve, of Oneonta, and Heather Borachok and her husband, Larry Brockway, of Lake Placid; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Eichler of Oneonta, Michalea and Miranda Borachok of Lake Placid, and Devin Brockway of Lake Placid.

She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Louisa Fien; and one brother, who was killed in action fighting the Battle of the Bulge, Fred Fien.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006, in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Gary Bonebrake, pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church, officiating. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye.

Memorial contributions in Lillian’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049 or to the Arthritis Foundation, Northeastern New York Chapter, 1717 Central Ave., Suite 105, Albany, NY 12205.

George Arthur Harrington

MORRIS — George Arthur Harrington, 71, of Morris, died Monday, March 6, 2006, at his home in Morris.

He was born March 22, 1934, in the town of New Lisbon, the son of Kenneth Arthur and Viola (Richards) Harrington.

He married Charlotte Marie Douglas on Aug. 18, 1957, at the Morris United Methodist Church.

He was employed with the New York State Department of Transportation for 30 years, retiring in 1996.

He was well-known for his tidiness and sense of humor. Telling a good joke was George’s fame; he knew one for every occasion. He kept a diary faithfully, which solved many a family discussion, and George also prided himself as keeper of the family stories.

His love of hunting, fishing and camping were evident by his 30 years of trips to Beaver River and Canada with the Valentines. He was a somewhat avid snowmobiler who traveled locally and to the Old Forge area. He was also known for his two favorite hobbies, mowing his large lawn and washing, waxing his shiny cars and trucks. He was a collector of John Deere tractors, guns and hats, and in his later years carved owls out of wood and stone.

He was a member of the Morris United Methodist Church and the Rods and Relics Car Club.

George, or "Poppy," as his grandchildren affectionately called him, is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Charlotte; his daughter, Janann Marie Phillips and her husband, John, of Williamson; and his beloved grandchildren, Tyler and Tricia. He is also survived by his siblings, Madeline Daniels and husband Larry of New Berlin, Eva Joy and husband Jerry of Morris, Hilda Bowen of Burlington Flats, Gary Harrington and wife Debby of Edmeston, Donna Mumbulo and husband Dennis of Edmeston, Ray Harrington and wife Penny of Garrattsville; his extended family who include Ken and Bette Coats and Al and Pat Deforest; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.

He was predeceased by a brother, Roy Harrington; as well as several aunts, uncles and in-laws.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Morris, with the Rev. Ann Blair officiating.

Burial will be in Hillington Cemetery in Morris.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the United Methodist Church of Morris, PO Box 246, Morris, NY 13808 or the Morris Emergency Squad, PO Box 452, Morris, NY 13808, in George’s memory.

Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.

Robert Badger Seaver

COOPERSTOWN — Robert Badger Seaver, 81, died Sunday, March 5, 2006.

Bob was born in Boston on Sept. 15, 1924, to James Daniel Seaver and Margaret Stewart Brigham.

As a child, he spent summers on Otsego Lake at his grandfather’s camp and at Camp Chenango for Boys.

He graduated from Phillips Academy, Andover, in 1942, and from Amherst College as a member of the class of 1946. He also attended Williams College for one year in the U.S. Navy V-12 program and the Midshipman School at Notre Dame, before joining the crew of the destroyer U.S.S. Niblack DD 424 as first Lieutenant for sea duty during World War II.

He began his teaching career at Episcopal Academy in Philadelphia. He then taught at The Marin Country Day School near San Francisco and for several summers at the Mohican Reading School before moving permanently to Cooperstown in 1960, when he became supervisor of the experimental "talking typewriter" reading program at Bassett Hall. He also taught at Cooperstown Elementary, ran the "Six Mile House" antique shop near the Hickory Grove Inn and began the newspaper column "The Badger."

Bob was a proud member of the P.A.E. Society and also of the PSI fraternity at Amherst.

Locally he served as the president of the Cooperstown PTA in the early 1960s, was a founding and current member of the Brookwood Foundation, and was a current member of the Otsego Golf Club and the Mohican Club.

He was also a charter member of the Friends of the Cooperstown Library, a former member of the Cooperstown Country Club, and an original member of the Town of Otsego Planning Board.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Patricia Sheil, after 30 years of marriage. In the spring of 2005, after 24 years together, he married Veronica Pilar Gil.

He leaves Veronica; his five children, Brigham Robert, Margaret Ann, Sarah Ann, Maud Stewart and Daniel Badger; Veronica’s two children, James Knox Patrick IV and Lori Woodward Patrick Cabrera; two sisters, Margaret Ann Seaver and Sally Seaver Johnson; three stepbrothers, Harry, Buddy and Bobby Hopewell; three sisters-in-law, Gertrude McCormick, Dolores Gil and JoAnn Smith; his mother-in-law, Julia Gil; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service celebrating Bob’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Christ Church, Cooperstown, with the Rev. Samuel B. Abbott, rector officiating.

Burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery in the spring.

Bob can be remembered by giving blood to the American Red Cross, or by gifts to the Louis Busch Cancer Treatment Center at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown or to the Catskill Area Hospice, Oneonta.

Arrangements are under the supervision of Tillapaugh Funeral Service, Cooperstown and Milford.

Willard I. Douglas

EDMESTON — Willard I. Douglas, 75, formerly of Edmeston, died Tuesday morning, March 7, 2006, at Harding Nursing Home.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston.
