WORCESTER — Ruth A. Reed, 90, died March 14, 2006, at the A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.

She was born March 25, 1915, in Decatur, the daughter of Ernest W. and Lela (Davis) Reed.

She is survived by her sister, Wanda Welbert; nieces, Mollie and Walter Thompson, Diane Welbert and Pamela Osborn; nephew, Reginald (Jon) Osborn and Ann Brower; great-nieces, Kimberly and James Thomas and their children, Addison, Connor, Brynn and Keely, Stacia and Michael Ryder and their children, Gregory, Kaitlyn, Jaidyn and Shayne; a great-nephew, Kyle Osborn; and several cousins.

She was predeceased by her sister, Alleine Osborn; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Welbert.

Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to the funeral service time at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2006, at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester, with the Rev. Jane Pykus, pastor at the Worcester United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester, will take place at a later date.

Ross Freeman Shader

DENTON, Texas — Ross Freeman Shader, 77, passed away March 11, 2006, at Denton Memorial Hospital in Denton, Texas.

He was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Utica, grew up in Cooperstown, and served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Salem CA-139 when it served as the flagship for the U.S. Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean Sea.

He lived in Stamford since 1967, with his late wife, Victorine Shader.

In his younger years, he enjoyed skiing and hunting. Later on, Ross could be found on the golf course more often then not.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Taub of Argyle, Texas; his son, Kyle and wife Michelle Shader, and their two children, Nathan and Brendan of Galway. He is also survived by his older brother, Charles Shader and his wife in Oneonta; and Ross’ first wife, Gertrude Shader in Argyle, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Stamford at the convenience of the family.
