| She was born in Stapleton, Staten Island, on May 8, 1917, daughter of Elizabeth and Daniel Miick.
Josephine married John H. Tucek on June 28, 1936, at St. Philip of Neri Church in the Bronx. In 1957, the family moved from the Bronx to New City.
The Tucek family maintained a weekend home in Roxbury since 1941, and in 1972, Josephine and John Tucek set up permanent residence in Roxbury.
During the 1950s, Josie was employed as head cook and dietitian with the Clarkstown School District in New City. She worked specifically at the Chestnut Grove School until she retired in 1974.
In addition to being a homemaker, Josie’s hobbies included traveling, cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Roxbury, a volunteer since 1997, at the Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville, and a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Roxbury.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, John, in 1997; son, Frank in 1997; grandson, Christopher Castaldi in 1986; great-grandson, Esai George in 2003; and sisters, Agnes Powers and Sophie Glover.
Josie is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Denise and Don Childs of Mesquite, Texas, Barbara and Al Vigna of Roxbury, Jean and Anthony Castaldi of Amityville; daughter-in-law, Arlene Tucek of Rock Tavern; 13 grandchildren, Scott and Kelli George of Springfield, Va., Dean and Rita George of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dianna and D.P. Childs of Mesquite, Texas, Alfred and Beverly Vigna of Jefferson, John Vigna of St. Robert, Mo., Diana and Tony German of Richmondville, Anthony Castaldi Jr. of Amityville, Frank Tucek Jr., Michael Tucek and Janine Tucek-Borovec from Rockland County, Wayne Childs of Poland, Maine, and Mark Childs of Mesquite, Texas. In addition, Josie is survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered as a warm, kind and caring mother and grandma, whose life centered around God, family and friends. She touched many lives and will truly be missed by many.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2006, at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Sacred Heart Church in Margaretville, with the Very Rev. Robert H. Purcell as celebrant.
Burial will be in the Roxbury Cemetery.

Elma Fisher BAINBRIDGE Elma Fisher, 91, of Bainbridge, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday March 21, 2006, at the A.O. Fox Memorial Home in Oneonta, with many of her nursing-staff friends present.
She was born Feb. 15, 1915, in the Bronx, to William and Bertha Lauffer.
Married on June 7, 1936, Elma and her husband, Victor H. Fisher Sr., recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary at the Fox Care Facility, where they resided.
Elma was an active member of the community. Known as "Grandma" to her co-workers at the Sidney Moose, Elma was a loyal member of the Women of the Moose for 29 years and 22 year member of the Tri-Town B.P.W.
Elma was the convener of the family, hosting years of Thanksgiving dinners. A lover of dance, she taught her grandchildren to dance in her kitchen and danced with her husband any chance they could get. She passed on family traditions through her baking and was famous for her Christmas cookies.
She is survived by her husband, Victor Fisher Sr.; her son, Victor Fisher Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Bainbridge, who devotedly cared for her in her later years; her daughter, Carolyn Zytka and her husband, Ferdinand; her daughter, Barbara; her grandchildren, Duke Fisher and his wife, Sharon, Kurt Zytka and his wife, Susan, Billy Zytka, Brian Campo and his wife, Michelle, Danielle Campo and Greg Campo; and great-grandchildren of whom she was immensely proud, Buddy, Griffin, Jake, Grace, Madison and Dominic.
She was predeceased by her sister, Mildred Schoenleber and brother-in-law, Ronald; and her firstborn great-grandchild, Lance John Zytka, who we now lovingly envision her holding while surrounded by the many family members and friends she spoke of often and missed greatly.
Friends and relatives are invited to call at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, where a memorial service will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Friday, March 24, and Women of the Moose Service at 1:45 p.m. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m.
The burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge at a later date.

Rudolph (Rudy) R. Timm LEAGUE CITY, Texas Rudolph (Rudy) R. Timm, 75, formerly of Conesville, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006, at his home in League City, Texas.
Rudy was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Brooklyn, to Rudolph Sr. and Ethel (Tiney) Timm. After Ethel’s death, he was married to Elisabeth.
Rudy graduated from Gilboa-Conesville Central School.
He married Hilda Brand on May 31, 1953. She predeceased him in 1986. He married Anna Fish on Aug. 20, 1988.
Rudy was a decorated veteran of the United States Army, serving as sergeant during the Korean Conflict and after his tour of duty served as training officer for recruits in Troy.
Rudy worked for the Town of Conesville, Rehbein’s Automotive and the South Kortright Boy’s School. While at the Boy’s School he formed the Drum Corps, which participated in local parades. He also worked at the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Department as a dispatcher and most recently worked at the New York State Power Authority as a safety officer until his retirement.
He served his community as a Conesville volunteer fireman, fire commissioner and was on the Town Council.
He was a member of the Legion, was a Mason and was a member of the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Tactical Force.
Rudy enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and "tinkering." His family fondly remembers him spending hours in his garage "reinventing the wheel."
He is survived by his wife, Anna; two daughters, one son and three grandchildren, Candace and Frank Liberati of Oneonta, Holly and Paul Tubiolo and children Renee and Christopher of Conesville, and Randall and Helen Timm and daughter Lindsay of Conesville; three stepchildren, their spouses and five stepgrandchildren, William and Bridget (Fish) Graves of Oneonta, Timothy and Brigitte Fish and their children, Benjamin and Noelle, of Syracuse, and Steven and Amanda (Fish) Alger, and their children, Sarah, Kyle and Cody, of Mount Vision.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006, at funeral home, with the Rev. Judith Thistle officiating.
Burial will be in Manorkill Cemetery.

Ruth Jean Lawrence Warner COBLESKILL Ruth Jean Lawrence Warner, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2006, from pulmonary fibrosis at her daughter’s home in Cobleskill.
She was born in Rochester on Nov. 19, 1921, moving to North Miami, Fla., in 1926, and graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1939. She was the daughter of Earl D. and Hazel Bowman Lawrence.
She married Max J. Warner (Franklin, NY) on Jan. 28, 1943, moving to Schoharie in 1950.
During the war, she was employed by Bendix Aviation in Sidney, later employed by General Electric in Schenectady and then New York State Tax and Finance.
After her husband’s death in 1972, she retired in 1976, moving back to Florida, to help care for her mother and father. There she was employed at Holmes Regional Medical Center.
She was predeceased by her mother, father, husband, and sister-in-law, Nancy Lawrence.
She is survived by her brother, Kelsie Lawrence of Satellite Beach, Fla.; son, John (Catherine) Warner of Bossier City, La.; daughters, Judith (William) Cary of Cobleskill, June (Joe) Urschel of Delmar, and Jean Warner and Richard Kelehar of Palm Bay, Fla.; eight grandchildren, John, Nikki (Kevin) Webber and Christopher, Timothy, SSgt. Andrew and Elizabeth Tator, and Jessica and Jason Urschel; as well as three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Brett and Catherine Webber.
She was a past member of the Schoharie DAR, Colonial Dames; Indian River Genealogical Society, Mayflower Society, Order of the Eastern Star-Chapter 204, and a member of the Roseland United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Officiating will be the Rev. Jennifer Dyer of the Zion Lutheran Church in Cobleskill.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ouleout Cemetery, Franklin.

Michael Kreminec CHICOPEE, Mass. Michael Kreminec, 86, of Chicopee, Mass., passed away peacefully March 21, 2006, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Ukraine on May 6, 1919, he was the son of Dmitri and Maria (Burko) Kreminec.
During World War II, Michael was held in a labor camp in Germany, where he met his future wife, the former Anna Bersyn, and they were married June 17, 1945. When the camps were liberated, Michael and his wife emigrated to America, arriving March 21, 1949.
They originally settled in Holyoke and spent 10 years there before moving to Chicopee. Mr. Kreminec worked for Dreikorn’s Bakery for over 30 years as head mechanic of the maintenance department before retiring in 1984.
He was also an active member of St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ludlow, Mass.
Michael was the beloved husband of 60 years to Anna (Bersyn) Kreminec; a loving father to Olga Desorcy and her husband, Alfred, of Southampton, Mary Patryn and her husband, Bruce, of Springfield, Natalie Wichkowsky and her partner, James Nadle, of Chicopee, Paul Kreminec and his wife, Kathy, of Chicopee; and his late son-in-law, Joseph Wichkowsky; a dear brother to Wasyl, Vladik, Stefka and Katherine, all of Ukraine, and the late Ilko, Sophia and Anna; a cherished grandfather of nine; and great-grandfather of seven.
He was a devoted husband and father who loved his faith, his family, and his garden.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at the Ludlow Funeral Home, with Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday with Panakhyda services at 7 p.m.

Richard Nelson Jones ONEONTA Richard Nelson Jones, 60, of Oneonta, died March 22, 2006, at his home.
Born Jan. 7, 1946, in Bayonne, N.J., he was the son of Franklyn and Ann (Jordan) Jones.
Richard worked for Broome County DDSO as a service coordinator. He was a member of the Oneonta Sportsman Club and the Ruffed Grouse Society.
He is survived by his mother, Ann (Jordan) Jones, of Rockaway, N.J.; his companion, Robin Peck, of Oneonta; his children, Richard F. Jones of Yonkers and Mike W. Jones of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; and his sisters, Elizabeth Bjellquist of Rockaway, N.J., and Janet Herrick of Binghamton.
He was predeceased by his father, Franklyn Jones; and a sister, Dorothy Murphy.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006, at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Joseph Benintende officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to the National Rifle Association, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.
