Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006, at the American Legion Hall on West Street in Edmeston.
Mr. Pylinski was born Aug. 16, 1975, in College Park, Ga. He was a dye setter at WestPoint Home Inc., in Opelika, Ala. Christopher was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed NASCAR, diving and camping.
He is survived by his mother, Regina (Proffitt) Pylinski, of Norwich, and father, Shawn P. Pylinski, of Edmeston; two brothers, Aaron W. Pylinski of Ft. Bragg, N.C. and Preston A. Pylinski of Naples, Fla.; one nephew, Julian P. Pylinski of Pensacola, Fla., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Cremation took place in Columbus on March 30, 2006.
Stephen A. Grosso WALTON Stephen A. Grosso, 79, of Walton, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at his home.
He was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Brooklyn, the son of Carmine and Isabella (Spano) Grosso. He married La Rae Dudley on Dec. 8, 1973, in New York City.
Stephen, his wife and son moved to Walton from Queens in 1984. He was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist. He volunteered with the Legacy Program.
He was a very passionate and prolific spiritual and philosophical writer. He composed many poems, essays and stories. Two of his books were professionally published, "Harry My Friend" and "Experiencing Lourdes." He self-published his most recent book "Pony Rider from Coney Island, a Spiritual Odyssey."
He was an accomplished violinist and loved classical music. He also enjoyed hiking at Bear Spring Park. An artist at heart, he also produced many wonderful woodcarvings.
He is survived by his wife, La Rae Grosso, of Walton; his son, Stephen J. Grosso, and his fiancée, Elaine Jenks, of Laurens; his one brother, Michael Grosso, of Charlottesville, Va., and his two sisters, Bella Strebel of Riverdale and Anne and her husband, Candido DeLeon, of Chestnut Ridge; his two nieces, Maria DeLeon of Chestnut Ridge and Karen Reddington of Queens; nephew Gary Strebel of Yorktown Heights; and three great-nieces and a great-nephew.
A funeral Mass will be held at noon Wednesday, April 12, at the Church of St. John the Baptist, 15 Benton Ave., Walton, with the Rev. Michael Flannery, pastor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.

Lloyd E. ’Pete’ Martin EAST MEREDITH Lloyd E. "Pete" Martin, 71, of Turnpike Road, East Meredith, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006, peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle of four years with cancer.
He was born June 11, 1934, in Franklin, the son of Charles and Lottie (Burdick) Martin. He married Anne Marie Archibald Aug. 1, 1959, in Schenevus. She predeceased him in October of 2005. They were married for 46 years.
Mr. Martin was a retired farmer of the Martin Farm Partnership, having spent 46 years on the farm. He enjoyed membership in the National Rifle Association. A United States Army veteran, he was previously stationed in Alaska and New Mexico. He most enjoyed his time in the outdoors hunting and with his family at the cabin in the woods. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was very important to him. He will always be remembered with his dog Buster at his side or sitting with him in his little red pickup truck.
He is survived by his son, Mike, and wife Lisa Martin of Oneonta; his daughter, Paula Martin, of Rochester; three beloved grandchildren, Emily, Garrett and Kyle Martin of Oneonta; siblings, Nancy Turk, Joe Martin, Karen Davis, Ken "Brud" and wife Barb Martin, Mary Martin and Steve and Jane Martin; a brother-in-law and special friend, Ted Archibald; aunts Ellen Burdick, Anna Martin, Ruth Martin, Helen Burdick; an uncle, Rocky, and Mabel Burdick; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides being predeceased by his wife, Anne Marie, and his parents, Charles and Lottie; he was predeceased by a brother, John Martin, and several relatives.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi. Funeral and committal services will take place at the convenience of the family.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr., Oneonta, NY 13820. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Louise K. Maurer FRANKLIN Louise K. Maurer, 85, of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
She was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Delhi, the daughter of Herbert A. and Millin (Peck) Hill. She married George K. Maurer on Oct. 26, 1941. He predeceased her Sept. 22, 1975.
Louise was a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church. She attended Delhi Agricultural and Technical College. For many years, she and her late husband were dairy farmers in Delhi and Franklin, raising Jersey cows. She was also active in 4-H and the Dairylea Association, serving as a legislative representative. She loved animals, especially her kitty cats.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Judy Austin of Framington, Mass.; a grandson, David Maurer of San Antonio, Texas; a granddaughter, Gretchen Smith of Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Katherine Louise, Hannah and Lauren Maurer; a sister, Evelyn Dann, and a nephew, Jim Dann.
She was predeceased by her husband and sons, Russell Maurer on Oct. 5, 1970, and Howard Maurer on March 30, 1990.
Friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday, April 10, at the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, 425 Main St., Franklin.
A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Monday, April 10, at the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Yoder officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Central Delaware County, Route 10, Bloomville Road, Delhi, NY 13573 or the Franklin United Methodist Church, Franklin, NY 13775.

James H. Brown BREAKABEEN James H. Brown, 77, of Breakabeen, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006.
He was born April 11, 1928, in White Plains. A lifelong resident of Schoharie County, he was well known.
He is survived by his companion, Josephine Cleveland; his former wife, Ethel M. (German) Brown and her fiancé, Dr. William E. Sternberg; his son, James D. Brown and his grandchildren, Ricky M. L. Brown, Wendy and Selena.
He was predeceased by his birth parents and his step-parents, Peter and Hattie Murray.
Family hour will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home in Middleburgh, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. officiated by Gerald Myers and Michael L. Tillinghast, provisional pastor of Schoharie Valley Alliance Church.
