Slippers roads cause minor accidents

Staff Report

ONEONTA — No one was injured in 11 car accidents in Oneonta, including two rollovers, which were caused by slippery roads Monday, State Police at Oneonta said Monday at 9 p.m.

Fender-benders resulting in property damage were common in Otsego, Chenango and Schoharie counties Monday, county dispatcher reported, but no one was seriously injured.

Cars slid off the road with the help of Monday morning's mix of rain, snow and sleet, officials said, and accidents occurred on I-88 and county and state routes.

Weather condition contributed to nine minor accidents in Chenango County, dispatchers said at about 9 p.m. Most accidents occurred in the morning hours, they said.

Otsego County's fire log showed 17 accidents, while Schoharie County's showed four.

Only one car accident was reported in Delaware County, Sidney troopers said. The 8 a.m. accident in Delhi didn't result in injury, they said.
