Conn. man charged in bad check
DELHI A Connecticut man was arrested Friday after allegedly trying to pay a Downsville bluestone company with a bad check, Delaware County deputies said.
James V. Bria Jr., no age given, of Greenwich, was charged with one count of issuing a bad check and fourth-degree grand larceny, deputies said.
He is charged with paying the Sonny and Sons stone company for a delivery of about $11,820 worth of bluestone thermal treads with a bad check, deputies said.
He was arraigned in Colchester Town Court and jailed on $10,000 cash bail to await a felony hearing.
The arrest came after a joint investigation by deputies, the Delaware County district attorney's office and Colchester police.
Deputies said information was turned over to other law enforcement agencies and the investigation is continuing.
