DELHI Four Delaware County teenagers were arraigned in County Court on Monday for crimes that occurred in the village of Sidney.
Emmon P. Johnson, 18, of Sidney was charged with first-degree sex abuse for allegedly subjecting another person to sexual contact by forcible compunction. According to court documents, the charge stems from incidents that took place at Sidney High School from October to November 2001, involving children under age 11.
Johnson pleaded innocent. His trial was scheduled for Jan. 7.
Linden D. Summers III, special prosecutor in Johnson's case, agreed to release Johnson on his own recognizance with the stipulation that he not have any contact with the three alleged victims in the case. In addition, Johnson is not allowed to have contact with anyone under age 18 unless there are adults present.
Delaware County Judge Robert Estes extended the orders of protection for the three children.
Randy Condon Jr., 17, of Bloomville was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny for allegedly stealing a motor vehicle in the village of Sidney on Sept. 9.
Condon's assigned attorney, Jeffrey Radol, entered a plea of innocent on his client's behalf and requested that the $10,000 bail be lowered. Radol said Condon is expecting his first child, has two jobs and attends school three days a week.
Estes said Condon doesn't have a criminal history, so he lowered the bail to $1,000. Condon's trial is scheduled for March 25.
Christopher M. Gonzalez, 18, of Bainbridge was charged with third-degree grand larceny and third-degree burglary for allegedly stealing a car with a value in excess of $3,000 and for knowingly entering a building unlawfully and with the intent to commit a crime.
Delaware County District Richard Northrup said Gonzalez and another individual took a car from a garage in the village of Sidney, drove it outside the village and burned it. Northrup said arson charges might be pending in the incident, which occurred Sept. 28.
David Roosa, Gonzalez's assigned attorney, entered pleas of innocent on behalf of his client. A request for a reduction in the $5,000 bail will not be acted on until the court obtains Gonzalez's criminal record. His trial is scheduled for March 25.
Steven Shanholtzer, 19, of Bainbridge was charged with two counts of grand larceny for allegedly stealing property valued at more than $1,000 and for allegedly stealing a credit card.
Shanholtzer pleaded innocent. He is free on $500 bail. His trial is scheduled for March 25.
Steven E. Moxham, 22, of Stamford was arraigned on charges of third-degree burglary, petit larceny and unlawful possession of marijuana, all stemming from an incident in the village of Stamford on Sept. 18.
Moxham pleaded innocent. He was released on his own recognizance following a felony hearing in Stamford. His trial is scheduled for March 25.
