College announces a dozen faculty and staff promotions

Staff Report

State University College of Technology at Delhi President Candace Vancko recently announced the promotion of 12 faculty and staff members for the 2002-03 academic year.

Three members of the college's nursing department have received promotions.

All three women are New York state registered nurses.

Lisa Wehner has been promoted from associate professor to professor of nursing. She holds a bachelor's degree and a master's in nursing from Syracuse University. Wehner also holds a post-graduate certificate as a family nurse practitioner from the State University at Stony Brook.

Carolyn Tolley has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor in nursing. She holds a bachelor's degree from Keuka College and a master's from Binghamton University in nursing.

Rosemary Spring has been promoted from instructor to assistant professor in nursing. She holds an associate's degree from Mohawk Community College, a bachelor's degree from the SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome and a master's from SUNY Stony Brook in nursing.

In the Liberal Arts and Sciences Division, Kathryn DeZur has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of English. She holds a bachelor's degree in English and comparative studies from Occidental College, and a master's and doctorate in English from Claremont Graduate School.

Michael Miller from the Technology Division has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor. He holds an associate's degree in electro-mechanical drafting/design from Delhi Tech, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology from the SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome and a master's in reading education from the State University College at Oneonta.

Barbara Sturdevant has been promoted from associate professor to professor in business. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Siena College and a master's of business administration in organization and management from Syracuse University.

Richard Blask and Mary Wake have been promoted from counselors to senior counselors. Blask holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas A&M, a master's in school psychology from Southwest Texas State University and a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Houston.

Wake holds a bachelor's degree in health science from the State University College at Brockport and a master's in counseling and human development from St. Lawrence University.

Ruth Hughes has been promoted from clerk 1 to calculations clerk 2 for human resources. She holds an associate's degree in landscape contracting technology from Delhi Tech.

Pat Flynn has been promoted from staff assistant to senior staff assistant in printing services.

Dave Deforest has been promoted from assistant director to director of the college's AmeriCorps program. He holds an associate's degree in fisheries and wildlife from the State University College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill, a bachelor's degree in outdoor recreation from Unity College and a master's in curriculum and instruction/outdoor education from Northern Illinois University.

Also in the AmeriCorps program, Marshall Andrews has been promoted from crew chief to assistant director. He holds an associate's degree in art from Tompkins-Cortland Community College and a bachelor's degree in art from the State University College at Fredonia.
