Business Beat: GR Homes in Unadilla reopens
GR Homes has finished reopening in Unadilla
Company representative Dennis Ryan said the business had closed after last year’s flooding but reopened fully last month.
The company is owned by George and Jaxie Rieb.
"They got 5½ feet of water on the sales lot, which completely wiped out their inventory of model homes and completely demolished the sales lot and sales office," Ryan said.
"Seven model homes were destroyed that the company was still liable for," Ryan said.
The company reopened in August, but didn’t have a sales office and lot models at that time.
"We completely redid our sales lot and today have nine new lot models on display and constructed a brand-new sales office," Ryan said recently.
The phone number for GR Homes is 563-1001. According to the business’ website, it is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The website is www.grhomesofne.com.

IRS: E-mail scam can be dangerous
There is a new e-mail scam circulating involving the Internal Revenue Service, according to a news release from the agency.
The release said people may be receiving e-mails telling them they are the subject of a criminal investigation because they submitted a false document to the "California Franchise Board."
The e-mail contains a link and file that will download a Trojan horse _ a program that can install bad software while claiming to do something else _ to the person’s computer.
People should not open the file if they receive the e-mail but forward it to the IRS at phishing@irs.com.
