Cary Brunswick joined The Daily Star as wire editor in 1983, was named city editor in 1985 and managing editor in 1987. His newsroom duties in recent years, beyond the managing editor role, have included acting editor, assignment editor (current), editorial page editor, chief editorial writer and systems editor. He has both bachelor's and master's degrees in philosophy. He and his wife, Susan, who teaches elementary school, live in Oneonta and have two daughters, Greta and Chloe.
