Letters to the Editor

A liberal’s creed is ridiculous

First three commandments of the liberal:

1. It’s OK to kill a fetus (possible future doctors, presidents, professors, scientists), while at the same time petitioning the courts to spare the lives of cop killers and other murderers.

2. God did not create the universe as we know it, rather gases that created themselves happened to collide into each other in a space that created itself. This ultimately formed the unique and spectacular world we live in today.

3. When the country is at war, work to destroy the government’s efforts to win decisively. Demonstrate any way you can to under-fund our troops and undermine America’s global standing. This works best by driving a Subaru with "Bash Bush" bumper stickers and especially by protesting at the funerals of our fallen heros. Remember this strategy worked well during Vietnam. After all, 9/11 was America’s fault, not the fault of radical jihadists.

Miss New York a role model

I read with delight the news story of a local woman _ Elizabeth Baldanza, of East Meredith, _ being crowned Miss New York.

How refreshing it is to know that in this topsy-turvy world of women wrestlers, women boxers and women football players there are still some genuine LADIES among us!

With her beauty, charm, grace and poise, Ms. Baldanza is truly a role model for today’s young women everywhere.

And wouldn’t it be an added bonus to have a Miss AMERICA right here in our own back yard! Good luck, Liz!

Watch out for check scammers

This is to inform your readers of a new scam going on. Here’s hoping if they do get such a letter they will know enough to throw it out.

The letter comes from FGA Inc., of Mississauga, Ont., along with a cashier’s check for a huge amount (mine was for $4,850) and they tell you to call a number to get the check activated. You’re supposed to put it into your account. Do not do this. They say you and nine others each will get $100,000.

I have checked this out and all they want to do is get your bank-account number, so they can drain your account.

Please do not be taken in by these crooks, but do report it to the state police and also to the Ontario Consumer Protection Department. The number is (416) 326-8800.
