Don’t publish minors’ names
I have two comments:
First,. Daily Star, stop listing the names of minors who have been arrested. It is immoral. If they are younger than 18, you should not publish their names in the police blotter or do a story about their arrests. You have done it more times than I can count, and it is damaging to these young people who may not even be guilty of what they are charged with. Some of them are too young to understand that what they are doing is breaking a law.
Secondly, I would like to address a comment by Mary Jane Munster on July 19 about leaving animals in hot cars. We are grateful for her bringing this to our attention, and, unfortunately, people are too stupid to realize how hot their car gets on summer days, even for just a minute. If I had seen what Mary Jane did, I would have broken that person’s window and taken the poor dog home with me. It would show the owner a lesson, and he doesn’t deserve the dog, anyway.

Owners must control cats
This is a follow-up to my first letter about cat problems.
Don’t get me wrong, I am an animal lover. I love cats. When I lived in Davenport, I had four cats, but not one of them ever went outside.
It’s wrong, in my book, to let your pets destroy other people’s property. If you own too many cats and can’t control them, then you should get rid of them or fence your own property in and let them destroy yours.
I see lots of people walking dogs and cleaning up after them. That’s what should be done with all pets.
I don’t know who owns all the cats I see, but I’ll tell you this _ there has to be at least seven cats that roam up and down my street.
When you walk on your lawn you need to be aware of land mines in your grass.
