Letters to the Editor
Some things haven’t changed
In reply to the Hartwick professor of accounting and his fellow devotees of divine design over evolution, I offer the following letter.
This letter was sent by former President Wilson in reply to a letter by botany professor Otis Curtis asking if Wilson believed in evolution.
It is interesting in that it is 85 years old and that the question of evolution still chokes the present presidential candidates.
Washington, D.C., Aug. 1922
My dear Professor Curtis:
May it not suffice for me to say, in reply to your letter of Aug. 25, that of course like every other man of intelligence and education I do believe in organic evolution. It surprises me that at this late date such questions should be raised.
Sincerely yours,
(Signed) Woodrow Wilson

Albany _ that’s entertainment
While I have long lamented the low value we get from our overpaid state legislators, recent events regarding our state Senate and the executive branch have provided us citizens with much humorous entertainment. Sure beats out any possible fictional exaggerations available on the idiot box.
May I humbly suggest that the citizenry be taxed at a higher rate (entertainment tax?) and that we give our elected officials yet another raise, since we are at last being given our money’s worth of laughter at this Theatre of the Absurd.
