OHS coach wins 200th

ONEONTA — Two-hundred and counting.

Jeff Gallusser scored three goals for the Oneonta High boys soccer team in a 7-0 defeat of Delhi on Thursday, contributing to coach Alex Brannan's 200th career victory.

Brannan, who is in his 14th season as OHS coach, led the Yellowjackets to a 23-0-0 season and the Class B state championship in 1999.

Ryan Martindale had two goals and an assist and newcomer Neils VanRyswyk contributed two assists as OHS (8-1 overall) remained perfect in the Susquenango Association at 7-0.

Freshman goalie Ken Luettger got the easy shutout as the OHS defense kept Delhi without a shot or corner kick in the victory.

Oneonta plays at Walton on Tuesday.

COOPERSTOWN — Cooperstown's Brett Wilhelm had 22 saves for the Redskins, but Hamilton (9-0) pulled out the Center State Conference victory with a goal in the second overtime. Kim O'Neal converted a Paul Myers assist for the game's only goal, which came off one of four Hamilton corner kicks.

Cooperstown (3-2, 2-2) travels to Cherry Valley-Springfield on Saturday.
