Ten area seniors picked for Ernie Davis

ENDICOTT Ryan Fletcher and Mike Martin have bigger turkeys to cook.
The Walton football seniors will miss out on participating in Thursday's annual Ernie Davis Senior Classic as the Warriors will be playing for the Class C state championship on Friday.
On Tuesday night, Walton coach Jim Hoover said he intended on cutting Thursday morning's practice short, however, in an attempt to get the seniors to the event for pregame introductions.
The Ernie Davis game is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving at Union-Endicott High's Ty Cobb Field. Admission is $4.
At 1 p.m. on Friday, undefeated Section Four champion Walton (12-0) plays Section One champion Edgemont (11-0) for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C championship at Syracuse's Carrier Dome.
Fletcher and Martin were two of 10 area seniors selected to the East team for the Davis game this season. Oneonta and Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton had two selections apiece as well. Anthony Tomaino and Lucas Ingersoll will represent OHS while Jason Bryden and John Stevens were selected for B-G/A.
Other area seniors selected were Unadilla Valley/Edmeston's Aaron Foulds, Sidney's Chad Smith, Delhi's Rick Luchetta and Unatego's Steve Decker.
