Delhi 3, Cobleskill 2

The Broncos qualified for the NJCAA Division Region III Tournament for the first time in the six-year history of the program with a come-from-behind victory at Cobleskill on Saturday.

Kelly Lynch, Allison Dilfer and Cynthia Jessup all had season highs to lead Delhi (11-9) to victory by scores of 18-30, 25-30, 30-24, 30-22 and 15-13.

Lynch and Dilfer had 19 kills apiece. Jessup finished with 37 assists.

Delhi coach Ken Brubaker credited his back-row defense — consisting of Kara Kane, Amanda Weaver and Iskra Hernandez — for the victory.

"We had excellent defense and heart and determination and we never quit," Brubaker said. "If we didn't win that match, we were out (of regionals). It was a big deal for Delhi volleyball."

Delhi will compete in Region III pool play as the seventh seed this Saturday and Sunday at Corning Community College.
