Yanks release Clay
Bellinger is 'waiting for teams to contact him,' father says

NEW YORK - The New York Yankees released infielder-outfielder Clay Bellinger on Thursday and signed infielder Enrique Wilson to a $720,000, one-year contract.
Oneonta High graduate Bellinger, 33, was designated for assignment on Jan. 10. He batted .160 with five home runs and 12 RBIs in 51 games last season.
Bellinger spent three seasons in the majors, all with the Yankees. He hit .194 with 12 homers and 35 RBIs in 181 games.
Dan Bellinger, Clay's father, said: "He's waiting for teams to contact him."
Wilson, 26, was eligible for salary arbitration. He was acquired by the Yankees on June 13 from Pittsburgh for pitcher Damaso Marte.
Wilson hit .242 with one homer and 12 RBIs in 48 games for New York. He batted .186 with one home run and 8 RBIs in 46 games for the Pirates.
