Hawks swim at home
Basketball teams play at Utica on Saturday

The Hartwick College men's and women's swimming and diving teams will have busy weekends at Moyer Pool on today and Saturday.
The Hawks will take on Cortland State and Oneonta State in a tri-meet at 4 p.m. Friday. Hartwick will then come back less than 24 hours later and meet Alfred University at 1 p.m. Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
The Hartwick women are 4-4. They are led by sophomore Julie Landmann, who has 236 points this season and 12 individual first-place finishes. Freshman Tara Griffith has 178 points and classmate Danielle Moreau 172.
The Hartwick men (2-6) are led in scoring by senior Chris Maiello (246 points), John Brennan (182) and Miguel Vargas (162).
Basketball
With a modest two-game winning streak, the Hartwick College women's basketball team is looking for some consistency. The Hawks are at 6-6 overall and 1-1 in the Empire 8 Conference heading into a league game at Utica College at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Senior forward Tiffany Hurley, the Empire 8 Player of the Week last week, had another huge game with 28 points and 15 rebounds in a 65-54 non-conference win at Cortland on Tuesday. The Oneonta High graduate is averaging 18 points and 12.2 rebounds a game while shooting 49 percent from the field.
Stephanie Clough had a balanced game, including seven assists on Tuesday. She is averaging 10.1 points and is second on the team in assists. Jessica Dakin averages 8.8 points, while Sara Lambert leads the team in steals and is at 6.5 points a game.
The Utica women had a 5-5 record before Thursday night's game at Russell Sage. Carrie Stanek (12.1 ppg, 5.9 rpg) and Walton graduate Libby LePinnet (11.8 ppg., 9.8 rpg) are Utica's top scoring threats.
The Hartwick men (3-10, 0-2) slumped down the stretch in a tough 64-58 loss at Cortland. The Hawks and Utica will meet after the women's game at 4 p.m. Joel Blackwell continues to play well for Hartwick, averaging 13.8 points and 8.2 rebounds a game. Meanwhile, Nate Cramer is tops in scoring (14.5 ppg) and is second in rebounding (7.2 rpg.).
Utica (2-9, 0-2) receives 15 points a game from guard Michael Plonisch and 11.8 points and 8.8 rebounds from forward Patrick O'Connor.
