OHS bowlers split with Owego

Bowling

at Owego Bowl

Tammara Gage rolled a 617 series and Tina Lossi a 616 to lead Central Division-leading Oneonta to a 5-2 victory over Owego in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference.

Lossi had a high single game of 247. Gage had a 230 for OHS, which comfortably ahead in the Central, with two matches remaining.

Oneonta's boys lost 5-2 to the Indians. The teams were separated by 10 pins, with Owego holding a 2,994-2,984 advantage.

Matt Geasley had a 692 series and Josh Hoffman a 612 for the 'Jackets. Oneonta will play host to Maine-Endwell on Tuesday.

Ryan Fisher swam a season-best 1:12.96 to win the 100-yard breaststroke in Oneonta's Southern Tier Athletic Conference loss at Owego.

Fisher's time was his best this season by two seconds.

Oneonta (1-5) will swim at Maine-Endwell on Feb. 1.

David D'Amico won the 100-yard freestyle and swam legs on Cooperstown's winning 200 medley relay team and 400 free relay team as the Redskins defeated visiting Afton/Bainbridge-Guilford.

Cooperstown (6-0, 5-1) will play host to Proctor on Tuesday.

Skiing

Nick Howes, Dan Fitzpatrick, Mike Hurley and Paul Theinpont helped the Oneonta boys to their third straight team victory in a Section Four meet with top-six finishes.

Windham's Jim Lawrence cruised to the boys individual victory, winning in 41.70 seconds. Howes placed second in 46.35. Oneonta teammate Taylor LaBarr finished 10th.

Antonia Schreiber led Windham's girls to a team victory with a winning individual time of 46.13, more than two seconds faster than teammate Emily Porter, who finished second.

The next race will be a giant slalom on Tuesday at Windham
