Strong efforts pace Palace Cigar, ISD

Wayne Balnis rolled a 750 triple to lead all Genny Light Classic bowlers on Jan. 21 at Holiday Lanes in Oneonta. Balnis had games of 259, 269 and 222 to help Palace Cigar Store beat Losie's Gun Shop, 21-3. Bruce Goodas had a 712 series for Losie's.
Oneonta Cellular trounced Johnson's Siding, 23-1, to reclaim first place. Joe Muller rolled a 736 set and Fred Muller finished with a 704 series for the winners. Oneonta Cellular set the high team triple with 2,789 total pinfall.
LL Dog beat Pierce Excavating, 16-8, to keep pace with the leaders. Tony Quinones shot a 708 series to lead LL Dog. John Harrison bowled a 638 for Pierce.
Brian Davis threw a 740 set to lead Oak Tree Homes over Dante's Pizzeria, 15-9. Steve Eichler contributed a 680 series for Oak Tree Homes and Larry Harrison shot a 637 set for Dante's.
U-Page defeated RJ Anderson Roofing, 16-8. Lee Kopf threw a 640 series for U-Page.

League leaders Tri-County Communications beat Zim's Shoes, 2-1. Mark Rathbun tossed a 658 triple for the winners and Jay Gage shot a 621 set for Zim's, which is tied for second place with Oak Tree Homes. Oak Tree swept Eckerd Drugs behind a 637 series from Joe Ingalls.
Dante's Pizzeria beat Morey's Restaurant, 2-1. Steve Eichler and Bill Walker rolled sets of 666 and 633, respectively, for Dante's. Substitute Chris Kopf had a 669 series for Morey's.
