Walton girls rally past Unatego

Warriors volleyball tops Spartans, too

Emily Conklin's 3-pointer at the start of overtime gave Walton its first lead of the game, and the Warriors went on to a 41-39 girls basketball victory over Unatego on Tuesday in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

Walton trailed at the half, 20-11, before rallying.

"We've been down before and I think I'd rather be behind," Walton coach Joanne Meade said. "One thing I can say about my team is that they never give up, and I give them so much credit for that."

Walton's Jennifer LePinnet scored 10 of her game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter and finished with a team-high 13 rebounds.

Unatego was led by Jess Hendricks' 11 points.

Sidney 78, S-E 30

Angela Mirabito scored 12 of her 33 points in the first quarter as host Sidney stayed undefeated with a MAC victory.

The Warriors started the game on a 14-0 run and led, 25-4, after one quarter. Mirabito's 33 points were three short of her varsity high of 36 set in the season opener. Jenny vanderMeulen added 13 points for Sidney (15-0), which visits Greene on Friday.

Leah DuMond finished with a game-high 19 points for B-G, which got 13 from Winn. Lauren Gagnon paced Greene with 18 points.
