Winning pitcher James Moretti retired visiting South Kortright in order after the third inning and Chris Brown hit a two-run single in the fifth to lift No. 5 Schenevus to a 5-2 victory in a Section Four Class D semifinal.

Schenevus (16-3) plays Delaware League champion Jefferson (14-1), the second seed, for the sectional title at 2 p.m. Saturday at Damaschke Field in Oneonta.

Moretti struck out 12 and walked one in a five-hitter, improving to 10-0 this spring and 21-1 over the last two seasons.
