Oneonta fumbles away victory, 7-4

HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP

Staff Report

Oneonta High couldn’t hold a 4-2 lead and lost at Seton Catholic, 7-4, in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference baseball game at NYSEG Stadium.

Pinch-hitter Angelo Fabrizi hit a two-run single to tie the score at 4 in the sixth, and Jason Gosney followed with a single that Oneonta bobbled. The Yellowjackets made three errors on the play, allowing three runs to score.

"It was the big play of the game," Oneonta coach Joe Hughes said. "Up to that point, I thought we were in command. We played hard, but we made a couple key errors at a bad time in the game."

Kyle Donnelly struck out 12 and walked four for Oneonta.
