Hawks fall to Ithaca in tennis
HARTWICK ROUNDUP
The Hartwick College men’s tennis team lost to Ithaca College, 4-3, in an Empire 8 Conference match on Tuesday.
Hawks senior Vladimir Vecher had his 10-match winning streak snapped with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 loss to junior Chris Ciolino at first singles.
Sophomore Vanja Ljubibratic, senior Julien Klein and freshman Dan Meininger won at singles for the Hawks (4-7, 2-3), who visit Oneonta State for a non-conference match at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Freshman Kelsey Campbell’s five goals weren’t enough as Hartwick lost at home to Elmira in the Empire 8 Conference.
The Hawks (4-7, 3-2) held a 7-2 lead in the first half, but the Soaring Eagles went on a 9-0 run to go up, 11-7, with 24 minutes, 10 seconds remaining.
Hartwick got within 12-11 on freshman Jamie Boulton’s goal with 8:33 left, but Elmira (5-7, 3-3) responded four minutes later on Katya Outwater’s goal.
Tiffany Hoke finished with six points on four goals and two assists for Hartwick.

Hawks lose two
Union swept a non-conference double-header against visiting Hartwick, winning, 12-0, and 10-0.
The Dutchwomen (24-4) rode Abby Arceneaux’s one-hitter in the opener and Jackie Coffey’s three-hitter in the second game.
Junior pitcher Abby Arceneaux (11-2) tossed a one-hit shutout in the opener for Union. She struck out seven without issuing a walk.
Sophomore had the hit for Hartwick (4-22) in the first game.
In the second game, sophomore center fielder Rose Cunningham (Jefferson) had a hit for Hartwick.
Men’s Lacrosse
Hawks vs. Hamilton
Hartwick (8-4, 4-2) plays host to Hamilton for a non-conference game at 7 tonight.
The Hawks are coming off a 13-10 loss to 19th-ranked Ithaca College on Saturday, and the Continentals (9-2, 2-2) took a 21-5 victory over Vassar on the same day.
Senior attackman Noah Hollander leads Hartwick in scoring with 42 points on 16 goals and 26 assists.
Hamilton has been led by the all-around play of senior attackman Jim Henry (25 goals, 22 assists) and junior attackman Jack Newton (18 goals, 12 assists).
and sophomore attackman Clark Winter (22 goals, six assists).
