| m Kyle Donnelly, the Yellowjackets won their first game in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference this spring with a 9-2 rout of visiting Whitney Point.
Donnelly scored four times and contributed two stolen bases as OHS (2-6 overall, 1-4 STAC) snapped a six-game skid.
Opening-day winner Doug Johnson (2-1) struck out five, walked two and scattered nine hits in a complete game. Batterymate Cody Losie drove in three runs for Oneonta, which plays a STAC game at Johnson City on Saturday.

Zack Smith and Adam Cutspec combined on a two-hitter to lead host Fort Plain (6-2) past Milford in the opening round of the single-elimination Rich Bauer Tournament.
Brett Laible and pitcher Mandar Gebhard singled for Milford, which plays host to Schenevus at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Visiting Whitney Point broke a 3-3 tie on an Oneonta error in the top of the ninth to score two runs en route to a STAC victory.
Oneonta starter Renae Alvarez fell to 0-4 despite allowing five hits and no earned runs in seven innings. The Yellowjackets left 10 runners on base.
Neither team had an extra-base hit in the game, which featured two ties and two lead changes.
Oneonta (1-7, 0-6 STAC) plays host to Johnson City at noon Saturday.

at Stonegate GC Justin Dye shot a 9-over-par 45 to lead Edmeston to a 255-313 victory over Madison in a non-league match.
Dan Cunningham finished with the low of 43 for Madison (0-1).
Edmeston (1-1) plays Franklin at Ouleout Creek Golf Course at 4 p.m. Monday.
