ONEONTA STATE SPORTS

Staff Report

Oneonta State softball earned a split with host Oswego in a SUNY Athletic Conference double-header Friday.

Erin Hodges scored the decisive run for a 2-1 O-State victory in the opener, but the Red Dragons fell, 2-0, in the second game.

Hodges singled, stole second and moved to third on defensive interference before scoring on Allison Bandos’ groundout to break a 1-1 tie in the top of the seventh during the first game.

Bandos, who scored Oneonta’s first run in the first inning, finished with two hits, as did Rena Finsmith. Starter Amy Herba earned her ninth victory this season with a six-hitter.
