Calcio opens season Saturday

The Calcio Legends soccer club begins its 2005 season with six games this weekend.

Among the area games are the Calcio Metro United against the SRUSA Wolverines at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fortin Park in Oneonta. Also, Calcio Margaretville plays the Sidney Tornadoes at 4 p.m. Saturday at Keith Clark Field in Sidney, and Calcio Edmeston Inferno plays the B.C. United Wildfire at Cheeseborough Field in Edmeston at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Franklin Recreation to hold sign-ups

The Franklin Recreation Summer baseball and softball teams will hold a registration session from 9-11 a.m. Saturday in front of the Franklin Central.
