O-Tigers offense puts up 20 runs

Matt Joyce finished 6-for-6, including a home run, four runs scored and two RBIs, to lead the visiting Oneonta Tigers to a 20-4 New York-Penn League victory over the Tri-City ValleyCats on Tuesday.

Justin Justice finished 2-for-4 with five RBIs, and Ryan Roberson hit a grand slam for the Tigers, who improved to 43-23.

Oneonta remained five games ahead of Lowell in the Stedler Division. The Spinners (38-28) beat Vermont, 6-4. The O-Tigers play Tri-City at 7 tonight. Jay Sborz (1-1, 3.92 ERA) is scheduled to pitch for the Tigers.

Sendy Vasquez (7-0) pitched five innings to earn the victory. He allowed two runs on six hits, striking out one and walked three.

Justin Justice had a three-run triple to help the Tigers to a 3-0 lead in the first. Oneonta then made it 8-0 with five in the second.

Hollimon and Middleton each had two hits for the Tigers, who had an 18-11 advantage in hits.
