SUNY-Cobleskill to sponsor golf event
The SUNY-Cobleskill Alumni Association will sponsor the Andy Bates Memorial Golf Tournament at Orchard Creek Golf Course on Friday.
The tournament begins at the Altamont-based course (near Albany) at 9 a.m. Friday. Cost is $100 and includes lunch, greens fees, a cart and prizes. Non-golfers may attend the lunch for $30.

Schenevus homecoming starts Friday
Schenevus Central will celebrate its Homecoming Weekend on Friday and Saturday. The weekend starts at 7 p.m. Friday with a march up[an error occurred while processing this directive] Main Street, leading to a pep rally and a community homecoming dance at the school.
Both varsity soccer teams play host to Worcester on Saturday, with the girls competing at 11 a.m., followed by the boys at 1 p.m.
Colgate to hold soccer clinic Saturday
The Colgate University men’s soccer team will hold a clinic for area youth players and coaches at the Emerson Soccer Farm from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday.
There is no cost to attend as the clinic is sponsored by the Chenango Chargers Soccer Club. All area players recreational, travel, league, middle school and high school are eligible to participate.
Those attending will receive a free pass to Colgate’s home game against Bucknell at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Brookfield 10K/5K Run set for Saturday
The Brookfield Optimist Club and the South Brookfield Cemetery Association will sponsor the 10th annual "The Maine Event" 10K/5K run at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Brookfield Town Park on Academy Road.
Pre-registration fee is $15, with an increase to $20 the day of the run. Race-day registration is set for 9-9:30 a.m.

Oneonta Little League to meet Monday
The Oneonta Little League will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the Sixth Ward Athletic Club. Selection of coaches for the 2006 season and filling volunteer positions are on the agenda.

Girls basketball camp Oct. 16 in Dryden
The Hoop Mountain New York Girls Shooting Camp will run from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 16 at Dryden High. Cost is $50. Groups of five or more girls from the same school will receive a $10 discount per player.

SCC boosters to hold memorial golf event
The Seton Catholic Central Booster Club will hold the first Brad Conklin & Andy Donahue Memorial Golf Tournament on Oct. 23.
Cost is $60 per person with all proceeds going toward the establishment of the Conklin-Donahue Memorial Scholarship.

Wrestling coaches clinic set for Nov. 4
The New York Public High School Athletic Association will hold its first wrestling coaches clinic at Cornell University’s Freidman Wrestling Center on Nov. 4.
The clinic will feature Cornell head wrestling coach Rob Koll and two-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler Travis Lee, among others.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by the workshop at 8:15 a.m. Cost is $75 before the event and $85 on Nov. 4.
