MAC Championships
Caitlyn Burr and Lauren Cole won two individual titles apiece Friday as Delhi earned its second straight Midstate Athletic Conference championship.
Burr took first in the 100 fly in a league-record 1 minute, 1.29 seconds and also defended her MAC title in the 100 back (1:02.59).
Cole repeated as league champion in the 500 free (6:00.78) and 100 breast (1:16.15).
The Bulldogs finished with 369 points, 33 ahead of second-place Greene. Delhi was ensured of a victory heading into the final event unless its 400 free relay team got disqualified. The group of Burr, Cole, Emilie Mignier and Chandler Shepherd won in a se[an error occurred while processing this directive]ason-best 4:00.97.
"I know I can always count on Caitlyn and Lauren, but the key was that a lot our seventh- and eighth-graders who were seeded 16th ended up placing ninth and 10th," Delhi coach Linda Burr said. "Those little points add up."
Cooperstown’s Melanie Garcia (200 free), Bailey Gardner (200 IM) and Jennifer Hensley (diving) won individual events. The Redskins placed third with 181 points.
