Weather postpones sectional girls games

The Oneonta High girls soccer team’s chase for a seventh straight Section Four championship was put on hold for a day.
The Yellowjackets (7-8-1), who won the Class A title last season and Class B titles from 1999-2003, were postponed Tuesday because of heavy rain and snow.
Oneonta, seeded fourth in Class A, will face fifth-seeded Elmira Southside (1-14) at 1 p.m. today at Union-Endicott.
The second round of the Section Four girls soccer tournaments is scheduled for Friday.
Other games involving area girls soccer teams postponed Tuesday were rescheduled as follows:
CLASS B: No. 5 seed Sidney (15-2) will play host to No. 12 Trumansburg (6-8-1) at 3:30 p.m. today; No. 11 Unatego (12-5) wi[an error occurred while processing this directive]ll face No. 6 Elmira Notre Dame (12-2-2) at 3:30 p.m. today at B.C. United Field in Binghamton.
CLASS C: No. 7 Walton (7-10) plays No. 2 Union Springs (9-6-1) at 3:30 p.m. today in Dryden; No. 8 Unadilla Valley (7-10-1) travels to No. 1 Candor (12-2) at 3:30 p.m. today.
CLASS D: No. 7 Schenevus (10-4-2) plays host to No. 10 Jefferson (10-6) at 3:30 p.m. today; No. 9 Gilbertsville-Mount Upton (9-6-1) travels to No. 8 Worcester (10-5-1) at the same time. No. 6 Margaretville (12-6) will play host to No. 11 Hunter-Tannersville (9-6), but the new day and time was not finalized Tuesday night.
