E8 honors Crea

Sophomore running back Lindy Crea received Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week honors Monday.

Crea finished with 360 all-purpose yards in a 42-40 loss to Utica College on Saturday. Crea, the national leader in all-purpose yardage, caught four passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns, rushed 20 times for 94 yards and a TD, and returned two kickoffs for 62 yards.

Crea finished the season with a school record in all-purpose yards in a season, with 2,279 for an average of 227.9. The previous record was held by A.J. Pittorino, who had 2,173 all-purpose yards in his senior season (1996).

[an error occurred while processing this directive]Crea carried the ball 170 times for a varsity-best 1,115 yards. He also caught 30 passes for 581 yards and returned 24 kickoffs for 583 yards.

Cross Country

Swan earns E8 award

Hartwick junior Autumn Swan earned Empire 8 Runner of the Week honors Monday, marking the third time she has won the award this season.

Swan was the top Empire 8’s finisher at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region Championship in Rochester on Saturday. She finished fifth overall on the 6,000-meter course, in 22 minutes, 29.4 seconds. Swan’s finish earned her a chance to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday.
