Sidney saves best for last in semifinal victory

SYRACUSE The Sidney football team went to old faithful Saturday.
Senior Aaron Zurn scored on a 12-yard run with 55 seconds left, giving the Warriors a 28-22 victory over Marcus Whitman in a Class C state semifinal at Syracuse’s Carrier Dome.
Zurn, named the Warriors’ offensive MVP for the game, finished with 179 yards on 24 carries.
Sidney (11-1) will face Dobbs Ferry (11-0) in the Class C state championship at 2 p.m. Saturday back at the Carrier Dome. The Eagles, who beat Schuylerville, 35-0, Saturday, are defending state champions and will be playing in their fourth final in five years.
