Staff Report

Freshman Scott Dubben (Cherry Valley-Springfield) went 3-for-4 and Anthony Suhadolnik 2-for-4 in Oneonta State’s 15-4 baseball victory over Ursinus College (Pa.) on Friday at Cocoa Beach, Fla.

The Red Dragons (6-2) also defeated Medaille College, 3-1, Thursday night.

Against Ursinus, Suhadolnik hit a two-run double and Dubben a two-run triple in O-State’s four-run fourth inning, which ended with the Red Dragons ahead, 5-2.

Tom Locke (2-0) pitched seven innings of four-hit ball. He struck out five and walked two.

In Thursday’s game, Erik Weber (Bainbridge-Guilford) struck nine and walked none in seven innings.

[an error occurred while processing this directive]"He was dominant," O-State coach Rick Ferchen said of Weber, who allowed one unearned run. "That’s the best I’ve seen him throw in a while."

Mike Kuratnick’s two-out, RBI single in the fifth inning gave O-State a 2-1 lead. Chris Brew had a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

The Red Dragons complete their southern trip with a 9 a.m. game Saturday against Medaille.
