E. Thompson earns 18th 300 game, rolls 845 series

Ed Thompson rolled his 18th 300 game April 5 at Holiday Lanes in Oneonta en route to an 845 series in the Country Club Chevrolet Classic.
Thompson’s set, the third-best in Holiday Lanes history, led Tri-County Communications to a 16-2 rout of Dante’s Pizzeria.
Thompson also owns the other top two sets at Holiday Lanes. He threw an 848 series earlier this year in the Sunday Night Mixed League and set an Oneonta Bowling Association record last year with an 864.
Joe Ingalls contributed a 739 triple Tri-County, which led second-place Zim’s Shoes by 10 games as of April 5. Jim Delello paced Dante’s with a 701 set.
[an error occurred while processing this directive]Mark Rathbun ended a 748 set with a 299, but Holiday Lanes fell, 13-5, to Zim’s. Kermit Weaver rolled a 721 set and Joe Muller had a 701 series for the winners.
Kyle Thompson threw a 659 set to lead Putnam’s Pest Control to a 11-7 win over Eckerd Drugs. Walt Van Deusen paced Eckerd with a 636 triple.

Michelob Light Classic Rod Holcomb threw a 805 set April 3 at Holiday Lanes to lead all bowlers in the Michelob Light Classic.
Holcomb rolled games of 290, 247 and 268 en route to the third-highest set in the season. Bruce Carroll contributed a 632 series as RJ Anderson Roofing beat Gage’s Carpet, 18-6.
Lee Kopf’s 723 triple lifted U-Page to a 15-9 win over Palace Cigar Store. Stan Smith contributed a 640 set for the winners. Kermit Weaver threw a 712 set for Palace Cigar, which received a 668 set from Wayne Balnis.
Ollie Oop Farm thumped Oneonta Cellular, 19-5, to move into second place 17 games behind frontrunner Ritz Farms. Al Camp rolled a 744 series and Brian Davis had a 692 set to pace Ollie Oop. Patrick Muller threw a 662 set in the loss.
Steve Eichler’s 795 set helped Oak Tree Homes beat High Point Contracting, 18-6. Tom Ingalls rolled a 659 series for the winners. Chris Eastman had a 708 series in the loss.
