Cobleskill swept

Hudson Valley’s Sarah Spellman finished 3-for-5, with a home run, double and five RBIs, in a two-game Mountain Valley Conference sweep of host Cobleskill on Monday.

Hudson Valley won the opener, 6-0, and the second game, 18-1.

Michelle Radley went 1-for-3 in the first game for the Fighting Tigers (3-5, 2-2). Tahara Pleasure went 1-for-2 in the second game.

Cobleskill athlete of the week

Matt Young was named Cobleskill’s athlete of the week Monday.

Young helped lead the baseball team into first place in the Mountain Valley Conference by sweeping Adirondack CC on Wednesday and Hudson Valley CC on Friday.

Young went 9-for-14 with six runs and five RBIs. He also pitched a complete game in the second win over Hudson Valley. The victories over the Vikings were Cobleskill’s first since 1995.

The Fighting Tigers play host to Schenectady CC at 2 p.m. today.
