Oneonta State athletes of the week
Oneonta State named Kaitlin O’Sullivan and Ashlee Robertson its athletes of the week Monday.
Junior O’Sullivan set a school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Friday at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in Claremont, Calif.
Running the steeplechase for the first time since high school, O’Sullivan finished fourth in 11 minutes, 7.29 seconds. The record time she broke was 12:53.77. She also met the NCAA Division III provisional standard.
O’Sullivan paced fourth in the 800 (2:14.44) at the Soka Twilight Invitational in Aliso Viejo, Calif. ,on Saturday.
Robertson, a graduate student, won two events at the Soka Twilight Invitational.
She earned victories in the 100 (12.32 seconds) and 200 (25.02). Both were NCAA D-III provisional times.
The Red Dragons host the Oneonta State Invitational at 3 p.m. Saturday.
