as the decisive run Saturday, lifting state-ranked Cooperstown to an 11-10 upset of second-seeded Bishop Grimes in a Section Three Class C quarterfinal.

Petroskey capped a 5-for-5 day with an RBI triple to tie the score at 10 in the top of the seventh. Luke Banner scored the tying run before Pohl singled in Petroskey for the lead.

Philip Pohl had two doubles for the seventh-seeded Redskins (16-5), who play at Immaculate Heart Central (18-6) today in Watertown.

Edmeston 18, Laurens 1

Ryan Laymon went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs to lead host Edmeston to a quarterfinal victory. Craig Stanton went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs for the top-seeded Panthers (18-3), who won the Class D state title last season.

Alex Stevens and Justin Plows each had two hits, two RBIs and a run for Edmeston, which hosts Morris today.

Greg Breuer homered for Laurens.

Alex Brzenk’s RBI triple in the fifth inning started a five-run rally as No. 14 Morris (7-9-1) beat No. 13 Schenevus on the road.

Mike Gergich went 3-for-4 with an RBI double to lead Schenevus, which rallied in the seventh. The Dragons scored twice and had the bases loaded with two out before winning pitcher Brzenk got Tim Dresser to line out to first.

Hancock 9, Roxbury 3

Lucas Flachs homered, but Delaware League champion Roxbury fell to visiting Hancock in the quarterfinals.

Mike Maloney finished 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, a homer and five RBIs to lead No. 6 Hancock, which ended the season of the No. 3 Rockets at 14-3.

South Kortright’s Seth Smith broke up Ryan Briggs’ no-hitter with a leadoff single to left-center in the top of the seventh, but the host Lumberjacks cruised to a Section Four Class D quarterfinal victory.

Briggs struck out 13 for second-seeded Deposit (13-6), which advanced to host a sectional semifinal against No. 3 Hancock at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

"He’s a little quicker than we’ve seen," said SK coach Bob VanValkenburgh, whose seventh-seeded Rams finished their season 12-6. "He was good."

Andy Jackson finished 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, but fifth-seeded Walton dropped a quarterfinal to No. 4 Elmira Notre Dame in Owego.

Losing pitcher Sean Fisher went 2-for-3 for the Warriors (14-3-1), who won their previous 14 games. Greg Schiefen struck out seven and doubled for END.

Windsor 6, Unatego 3

Winning pitcher Brian O’Neill hit two-run doubles in the first and fifth innings to lift fifth-seeded Windsor past host Unatego in a Section Four Class B quarterfinal.

"He went opposite-field twice," Unatego coach Frank Microni said of O’Neill, who finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs. "I didn’t want him to dink it in for a single, but I guess I didn’t learn my lesson."

O’Neill also struck out seven and walked two for the Black Knights, who will visit top-seeded defending sectional champion Chenango Valley on Tuesday.

Kyle Palmer went 2-for-3 with a run and a stolen base for the fourth-seeded Spartans (15-6), who had six hits.
