Amie Ballo struck out 10, but the 15th-seeded Mountaineers (6-7) dropped a Section Four Class D quarterfinal Saturday as Liz Rice struck out 18 in a no-hitter for No. 2 Hancock.
Rice faced one over the minimum, hitting a batter in the third inning to lose her bid at a perfect game.
