Santo De Leon homered and had three RBIs to lead the Oneonta Tigers to a 5-2 victory over the Lowell Spinners at Damaschke Field on Saturday.

De Leon’s two-run homer to left in the third inning gave Oneonta a 4-1 lead.

Derek Witt (2-0) earned the victory, pitching three innings in relief of Zach Piccola. Witt allowed one run on three hits and struck out two.

Brett Jensen walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth, earning his third save.

Starter Piccola allowed one run on one hit in four innings. He walked three in his professional debut.

The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. With one out, Scott Sizemore singled and scored on Brennan Bo[an error occurred while processing this directive]esch’s double to left. Ronnie Bourquin then singled to left, putting runners on first and third.

De Leon grounded to third baseman Jorge Jimenez, who threw to second to get Bourquin. De Leon was safe at first and Boesch scored.

Lowell got one back in the third. With runners on first and third, Piccola got Jonathan Still to ground into a double play. Luis Segovia scored from third.

De Leon’s homer — his first of the season — gave the O-Tigers a three-run lead after three.

Lowell’s Jeff Vincent had a sacrifice fly in the seventh to make it 4-2. Oneonta scored the final run in the eighth. Sizemore singled to center, stole second and went to third on a throwing error by Lowell catcher Still. Boesch followed with a sacrifice fly.
