O-Tigers rained out

To play two 7-inning games tonight at Vermont

2006 O-TIGERS

Staff Report

The Oneonta Tigers hit the showers early for the second straight night as rain postponed Monday’s New York-Penn League game at the Vermont Lake Monsters.

As a result, Stedler Division leader Oneonta (4-1) will play two seven-inning games at Vermont’s Centennial Field starting at 6:05 tonight. Matt O’Brien was scheduled to pitch Monday night for the O-Tigers.

On Sunday, rain washed out the O-Tigers’ home game against the Lowell Spinners. That game was moved to an Aug. 22 doubleheader at Damaschke Field.

[an error occurred while processing this directive]Vermont entered Monday in last place in the four-team Stedler Division with a 2-4 record. The second-place Tri-City ValleyCats (4-3) beat host Lowell, 10-4, Monday night. Lowell fell to 2-4.

Formerly known as the Expos, Vermont is 17-42 against Oneonta since joining the Stedler Division in 2002. Last season, Vermont went 1-13 against the O-Tigers.

Oneonta closes its three-game series at the Lake Monsters on Wednesday, then visits Lowell for a three-game set Thursday through Saturday.

The Tigers return home to Damaschke Field on Sunday, when they start a three-game series against Vermont at 6 p.m. That game offers free admission with special tickets.

Admission is free for the third game in that series, which starts at 4 p.m. July 4.
