Staff Report
It rained on Jeremy Kerr’s parade Monday.
Oneonta Country Club pro Kerr won the Individual Pro Competition at Sunday’s Ellis Hospital Skins Game Pro-Am at the Mohawk Golf Club in Schenectady.
In addition to winning $1,000 for his 1-over-par 72 Sunday, Kerr earned a Northeastern New York PGA berth in Monday’s Ellis Hospital Skins Game. Kerr was scheduled to complete a foursome featuring professional golfers Blaine McAllister, Ed Fiori and Peter Jacobsen, the event’s featured guest who has won seven times on the PGA Tour.
Kerr, 33, never got the chance to play Monday, however, as rain canceled the 13th annual charity event.
[an error occurred while processing this directive]Schenectady native Kerr rebounded from a double-bogey on his first hole Sunday, the par-4 ninth, to win the Pro-Am. He capped his round, which also included three birdies and two bogeys, with an 8-foot par putt to win the title by a stroke over Brian Hampson from Shaker Ridge Country Club in Loudonville.
Kerr earned NENYPGA Player of the Year honors three years ago, when he served as an assistant at Wolferts Roost Country Club.
