Three O-State women honored for academics

Three Oneonta State women earned spring Academic All-American honors from ESPN The Magazine, the college announced Monday.
Seniors Jessica Garabedian and Musu Jackson-Buckner joined graduate student Ashlee Robertson as O-State’s selections. ESPN The Magazine sponsors the Academic All-America program. More than 100 voters from the College Sports Information Directors of America Board and the Academic All-America Committee selected the teams. Student-athletes who were named to their respective district first teams, maintained a GPA of 3.2 or higher and were major contributors to their teams were eligible.
Track standouts Jackson-Buckner and Robertson received second-team accolades. Jackson-Buckner won the NCAA Division III 200-meter championship this past spring. She also finished second in the 100 and contributed to a third-place finish in the 400 re[an error occurred while processing this directive]lay.
Robertson earned All-American honors in the 400 and the 400 relay at the NCAAs this past spring, giving her an O-State record seven all-time.
Garabedian, who had 52 goals in her second season as the Red Dragons’ captain for women’s lacrosse, received a second-team At Large honor.
