O-State tennis beats Hartwick, 7-2

Nicole Lindell improved her first singles record to 4-1 after a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Grace Hughes that helped Oneonta State to a 7-2 victory at Hartwick, 7-2, Wednesday in a non-league tennis match.
It was the third straight victory for the Red Dragons (3-2), who also received singles victories from Katie Wlodarczyk, Zirka Markewycz, Allison Pearlman and Elise Perigard.
Betsy Breaznell won at third singles for the Hawks.
O-State (3-2) plays at Geneseo at 4 today.

Freshman Kathryn Kubaryk had two goals and one assist in leading the Red Dragons over visiting New Paltz.
Megan Flaherty scored off an assist from Somer Shuffield to give O-State a 1-0 lead. Goals by Samantha Merritt and Nicole Benscoter made it 3-0 and the Red Dragons (4-3) led, 6-0, by halftime.
Benscoter finished with two goals.
New Paltz is 1-5.
The Red Dragons play at Oswego at 1 p.m. Saturday.

{"Body Text Bold"/}Sheldon honored again
The website D3Kicks.com named Oneonta State junior defender Calli Jo Sheldon (Unatego) to its team of the week for the week ending Sept. 17.
The junior was one of 11 NCAA Division III players to earn weekly honors, and for Sheldon it was the second straight week she made the team.
Sheldon helped the Red Dragons (6-1) to a 3-0 record last week. She had five assists, including two in O-State’s 2-1 double-overtime victory at Ithaca College.

{"Body Bold Center"/}NYSWCAA honors Eddinger
The New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association named O-State senior Maegen Eddinger its defensive player of the week.
Eddinger was named to the All-Tournament Team at the New Paltz Invitational this past weekend after helping lead the Red Dragons to a 3-1 record.
In five games last week, Eddinger had 138 assists and nine aces.
She had a season-high 47 digs in the Red Dragons’ 3-2 victory over Elmira on Friday. She had 41 digs in a 3-1 loss to New Paltz on Saturday.
Eddinger leads the Red Dragons with 254 digs on the season.

{"Body Bold Center"/}Hartwick names assistant coach
Hartwick College named Eric Koch as an assistant lacrosse coach, head coach Bill Bjorness announced.
Koch previously worked as an assistant coach for Division I Rutgers University.
A 2005 graduate of Washington & Lee University, Koch holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics.
Hartwick College finished last season at 4-10.۩
