Kristen Cleaveland scored twice, and Katie Ahart had a goal before the game was 14 minutes old as top-seeded Candor advanced against ninth-seeded Delhi at MacArthur Elementary in Binghamton.

Cleaveland scored three minutes into play, chipping the ball over Delhi goalie Ashley Skovira’s head from 15 yards. Ahart scored three minutes later from 12 yards, and Cleaveland made it 3-0 at the 13-minute mark.

"Candor is definitely the top team in our section," Delhi coach Frank Vito said. "They’re ranked first in the state for a reason."

Vito said the play of outside defenders Corey Miglianti and Courtney Rosa helped Delhi keep Candor scoreless over the final 67 minutes. Delhi (7-11) received 12 saves from Skovira.
