Greenman Invitational

Brian Reis’ eighth-place finish Saturday paced an undermanned Cooperstown boys cross-country team in the Loyal D. Greenman Invitational at Ely Park in Binghamton.

Several Cooperstown runners, including No. 1 boy Stephen Scrafford, took ACT tests Saturday and could not attend.

Reis completed the 2.85-mile course in 17 minutes, 46 seconds. Vasili Papastrat of Binghamton won in 17:14.

Cooperstown’s boys finished eighth in the 11-team field with 216 points. Corning won with 83.

Rebecca Adikes finished 37th in the girls race for the Redskins. She crossed in 23:30.

Cooperstown will compete in the Section Three Championships on Friday at Liverpool. The girls race starts at 12:30 p.m., followed by the boys at 3 p.m.
