Miller leads Broncos’ second-half charge

Abar Miller scored 12 of his 15 points after halftime, helping SUNY Delhi’s men’s basketball team to a 77-55 victory over visiting Onondaga Community College on Thursday.
The teams were tied at 31 at halftime before Miller opened the second half by hitting four baskets, including two three-pointers, as the Broncos pulled away.
Eddie Hood scored 14 points and had nine assists; Doug Antone had a game-high 16 points; and Brently Pearson eight points and five steals for Delhi (3-3), which plays host to Adirondack CC at 2 p.m. Saturday. Unadilla Valley graduate Zack Thomsen, The Daily Star’s Player of the Year last season, scored three points for Onondaga.

Stanley Francois scored a game-high 17 points, Jayson Taylor had 16 points, and Anthony Armstead finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and five blocks for Cobleskill, which led, 46-35, at halftime.
Harley Fuller had nine points and four assists, and Josh Young scored eight for the Fighting Tigers (4-2), who play Tuesdsay at Columbia-Greene CC.

Kelly Taggart (Franklin) had 10 points for the Broncos (0-6), who play host to Jefferson CC at noon Saturday.
Cara Seymour led Onondaga with 16 points.

Delhi athletes of the week
SUNY Delhi named cross country runners Alaric Best and Gabby Dello its athletes of the week. Best ran his top race of the year at the NJCAA Division III championships, finishing 21st in 31:32 to help the Broncos win their third straight team title and finish the season with the No. 1 ranking.
Dello (Gilbertsville-Mount Upton) finished seventh overall at nationals in 22:35 and was named to the All-American second team.
